The most fundamental questions here are: How do we create peace in a region devastated by years of conflict and violence? What are the concrete steps that we can take to engage youth in reconciliation, to give them the opportunity and skills to create a new future for Africa?

Cultural Activities

Like the sports practices, traditional Rwandese dance, drumming, and singing rehearsals take place every afternoon at various locations around the city of Kigali and throughout Rwanda. Children representing a variety of ages, socioeconomic levels, and backgrounds participate in these classes and rehearsals, which are coached by a team of Amani volunteers. The singing, drumming, and dancing groups are regularly asked to perform at events in Kigali.

In a country haunted by violent divisionism, it is important for young people to come together to learn about and celebrate a common Rwandan cultural heritage.
