Eric Brinkert

Conflict Resolution and Peace-Building Program Coordinator

Eric Brinkert is a Masters of Arts candidate in Conflict Resolution at Georgetown University. Eric worked with Amani Africa in Kigali while participating in a Global Youth Connect Human Rights delegation. Eric assisted with the conflict resolution and peace-building programs that Amani Africa runs for primary and secondary students in Rwanda and Burundi.

Eric is now in Washington, D.C., working on developing a handbook and curriculum that will be used in all Amani Africa conflict resolution training, events, and workshops, and assists Elizabeth Davis with fundraising and advocacy projects. In addition to these duties and continuing his studies at Georgetown University, Eric is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgetown University Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs.

Eric received a dual degree in Government and Religious Studies from Claremont McKenna College in California. Eric first became involved human rights and development work while studying at CMC and serving as a board member of the CMC Center for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide and Student Advisory Board. Eric was the co-founder of Students Against Genocide, a genocide advocacy organization based in the Claremont Colleges. After graduation, Eric worked for the Close Up Foundation, the nation's largest non-profit, non-partisan civics education organization. As part of the Foundation's curriculum department, he helped plan programs for thousands of students to learn about the American government and designed educational events on the Holocaust and genocide. Eric was an eight-year varsity track and field athlete in high school and college and now lives in Alexandria, VA.
