Elizabeth Davis
Executive Director
Elizabeth's passion for international development developed through her work with nonprofit organizations in Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, South Africa, Kenya, and Rwanda. Experience on issues ranging from environmental sustainability in the rainforest to HIV/AIDs education in the townships of CapeTown has given Elizabeth unique insight into the intricate nature of development and the clear advantage of locally-driven and grassroots initiatives.
Elizabeth graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University in 2006 with a B.A. in Human & Organizational Development and Political Science. While at Vanderbilt, Elizabeth served as President of STAND (an anti-genocide coalition), an officer of Students for Kenya, and co-founder of Fashion For A Cause.
Just a few days after graduation, Elizabeth left for Rwanda as a participant in a Global Youth Connect delegation, studying post-conflict reconciliation in Rwanda. She began working with Gasana Mutesi and Charles Nkazamyampi shortly after her arrival, and the rest is history.
Elizabeth was recently selected as a StartingBloc fellow, a highly selective program for young students and professionals involved in social entrepreneurship.
As Executive Director, Elizabeth focuses on fundraising and development for all the Amani Africa programs.
